ORSA PREDATOR PARK
Orsa Bear Park, the largest predator park in Europe, is located about 45 minutes by car from Älvdalen. The park enables you to see predators in their natural habitat.
In addition to the Scandinavian brown bears, the park is also home to Kamchatka brown bears, wolves, lynxes, foxes, wolverines, eagle owls and Siberian tigers. Furthermore, Polar World – the world’s largest polar bear facility – was opened in the park in the summer of 2009, and snow leopards were added to the park fauna in the summer of 2010.
The park also houses a Predator Centre/Wood Design Centre, a fantastic building with all manner of information about predators and wood as a design and construction material.
Our Scandinavian bear is a peaceful omnivore and almost half of a bear’s energy intake comes from berries.
